There are openings on The Big Event Executive Board for Director and Chair positions. We also need a lot of committee members to help out! To apply for a position, fill out the appropriate application (below) and submit it via email to longwoodbigevent@gmail.com or drop it by the Longwood Mail Room, box #2958. All applications are due by 5:00pm on Monday, April 25, 2011.

Position Descriptions:
Directors
Chairs
Duties of the following Chair members include reporting to their Director, performing assigned tasks, delegating responsibilities to committee members, attending meetings, etc.
Committee members
- Director (main): Oversee all operations in preparation of the Big Event; delegate duties to all other directors and chair members.
- Assistant Director: Assist the head Director in all aspects of the Big Event; fill in for the Director in the event that he or she is absent.
- Director of Outreach: Create marketing strategies to promote the Big Event on campus and in the Farmville community; recruitment of student volunteers.
- Director of Projects (jobs): Obtain projects through the Town of Farmville and local residents; evaluation of all job sites prior to the day of the event.
- Director of Logistics: Organize all aspects of the day of the event; work with campus facilities; reserve necessary materials needed on the day of the Big Event.
- Director of Finance: Oversee and manage the budget; fundraise for the Big Event; obtain grants, donations and sponsors.
- Director of Media: Update the Big Event website, create advertisements, media kit for day of the event; design promotional material.

- Outreach: Recruitment Chair, Marketing Chair
- Projects: Survey Chair
- Logistics: Entertainment Chair, Campus Chair
- Finance: Fundraising Chair
Committee members
- Outreach Committee: Marketing; recruitment of student volunteers; promote the Big Event in the Farmville community.
- Projects Committee: Obtain projects; survey project sites
- Logistics Committee: Help organize and prepare for the day of the event; set up tables, signs, tools, and other equipment at the Big Event site on campus.
- Finance Committee: Set up fundraising events; collect donations.
- Media Committee: Assist with adding content to the website, create publicity (post fliers and hand out materials around campus), help prepare a media kit for the day of the event.
