About The Event
Longwood University's Student Government Association held the first annual " The Big Event" last year. The Big Event was founded at Texas A&M University in 1982 and is now adopted by 72 other universities nationwide. The Big Event is a one day service project where students could show their appreciation of local residents by completing various tasks at residents of needing homes. Longwood University's Big Event's Mission is to bring together the entire student body to express their gratitude to residents who support them during their time here at Longwood. This project promotes unity between the University and the Community as a whole.
Mission Statement
Through service-oriented activities, The BIG Event promotes campus and community unity as students come together for one day to express their gratitude for the support from the surrounding community.
